A Koala, Holding On To a Glass Bottle

A medium-weight cotton tee with a koala wrapped around a returnable glass soda bottle, drawn in worn vintage advertising style — the look of a printed sign that has been on a wall too long.

The back carries the cap. Front and back are one object taken apart, the same structure as its companion piece in the range.

The Design Vision

• The koala: An animal with no business being there at all, holding the bottle with total commitment. The absurdity is load-bearing — without it this would just be packaging nostalgia.

• Glass, not plastic: The bottle is drawn as the heavy returnable kind, the sort that went back to the shop in a crate. That detail is doing most of the remembering.

• The cap on the reverse: The emblem given the back placement on its own, with the wordmark set in Amiri — a naskh typeface drawn from early twentieth-century Bulaq printing rather than a default system font.

• Faded ad-print palette: Muted, slightly off-register colour, so the artwork reads as reprinted from something old instead of generated clean.

Nobody knows why it's a koala. That's the best part.
