Tyre Smoke Over Safavid Arches

A heavyweight crewneck sweatshirt carrying the Isfahan Drifters artwork — a red Peykan mid-slide against the arcades of the old bridges, architecture held still while the car burns.

Printed on a heavier body than the tee version, which changes the register. Same scene, more weight behind it.

The bridges in the background were never only bridges. Si-o-se-pol and Khaju were built under the Safavids to cross the Zayandeh Rud, but also to dam it, to regulate irrigation, and to give the city somewhere to gather — the arcades have teahouses and seating built into them. People have been meeting under those arches for four centuries. The car is just the newest thing to make noise there.

The Design Vision

• The gojei Peykan: Tomato red, wire-spoke wheels, chrome grille — the trim specific enough to be identified by anyone who grew up around one.

• Monochrome architecture: The bridge arcades rendered flat black and white behind the car. Draining the colour from the stone is what lets the red carry.

• Drift smoke: An illustrated cloud sweeping across the frame, moving the eye from clean bodywork into motion.

• Worn garage type: Heavy eroded lettering along the base, borrowed from photocopied race flyers and workshop signage.
