Isfahan Drifters BW - Tee

Quiet on the Front, Smoke on the Back

A lightweight cotton tee carrying the monochrome cut of Isfahan Drifters. The front keeps it to the logo. The back carries the whole scene: a Peykan Javanan mid-slide past the arcades of Isfahan, drift smoke rolling off the rears, every trace of colour stripped out.

Without colour the picture reads like archive film — grain, contrast and shadow doing all the work. Same scene as the original, harder edge.

The Peykan was built by Iran Khodro from 1967 to 2005, licensed from Britain's Rootes Group and mechanically a Hillman Hunter. For nearly four decades it was the default car of the country — the taxi, the family car, the one everyone learned to drive in and everyone's uncle could fix. The Javanan trim was the version aimed at younger drivers.

The Design Vision

• The front — the logo: Just the Isfahan Drifters name, worn like a club badge. Nothing on the chest gives the back away.
• The back — the Javanan in greyscale: The car holds the centre, wire-spoke wheels and chrome grille intact, smoke cutting across the frame.
• Architectural rhythm: The repeating archways of old Isfahan run behind the car, so the oldest thing in the picture and the loudest share the same tones.

The whole story only shows once you've walked past.
