The Banner That Started a Revolt

An 11 oz ceramic mug carrying the Derafsh Kaviani — the royal standard of the Sasanian Empire and one of the oldest symbols in Persian memory.

The story is a rebellion. Kaveh was a blacksmith who rose against the tyrant Zahhak and raised his leather apron on a spear as a rallying flag. That apron became the imperial standard of Persia for centuries, its jewelled star known as the Akhtar-e Kaviani.

The Design

  • The Jewelled Star: The Akhtar-e Kaviani sits centred on a field of royal purple, accented with yellow ribbons and framed in a bold red border.

  • Wrap-Around Print: The artwork runs the full circumference, so the design reads from any angle on the desk.

A gift for Nowruz, for history readers, or for anyone honouring their roots.
